Ask me anything

I'm Amanda- a primarily self-taught multimedia artist who's inspired by the human form, whimsical misadventures, nature, emotions, and music. I'm based out of Seattle, and my preferred mediums at the moment are watercolor, acrylic, ink, oil, and charcoal.
One of like 8 different versions of the same drawing. But this one is my favorite because it’s colored with coffee and lipstick.

And then I got locked out of my house.

Won’t be receiving keys until tomorrow, so no new painting pictures tonight. Stay tuned.

Yay something new GOOD LORD.
So first of all let me clarify, I did not do this tattoo. But the design is an exact copy of my own art, and I’m elated to finally see it in action. The chest is also my own, haha.
This design has a lot of meaning to me, and I’m already excited to go back and get it colored in. I will post an actual copy of the drawing with the color before I go get it done. The tattoo artist is Thomas Wade @ Laughing Buddah in Seattle, and he’s obviously pretty fantastic.

Technical difficulties

So apparently the last few sketches I’ve posted just haven’t shown up and/or got eaten by the Internet. Thanks Tumblr!

I’m at work right now so I can’t remedy this currently, but me and my computer are going to have a long talk when I get home.

Stay classy art fans. Big things are coming.

In the meantime, here’s something recent from my sketchbook. Also, if you’d like to see more little sketches and life/art happenings, follow my Instagram, screen name moonwaffles. I’ve noticed a lot of my favorite artists have started tracking their creative progress with Instagram.. it’s a neat way to see what they’re all up to on a day to day basis.

Tomorrow!

Just giving everyone a heads up that if all goes well I will be posting a new piece that I’m really excited about. One of my first oil pieces in years. Happy weekend Tumblr folk. :)

Brain asplode.

So. Usually, I post a once a week entry of ongoings in my personal tumblr blog thingy (if you know where it is, cool, if not, too bad) but this week I’m putting it here, in lieu of my art absence. I got rather frustrated with Tumblr last week trying to upload some new things, and eventually just had to say fuck it for the time being, but in all actuality I’ve also just plain fallen behind on some projects. My life as a whole has gotten nothing short of crazy lately. And while I adjust to some of the new time restraints (like working 60 hours a week) and continue to fight with the uploading power of pictures on Tumblr, all I can really say is that this is the biggest deal to me in the entire world. It’s why I wake up in the morning, it’s what I think about before I go to bed. You get it.

Things to look forward to once I figure out why my pictures won’t upload and get back on track:

-Sketch of the day posts AGAIN.

-One big oil creepy as hell painting that’s been in the works since February. This is by far the most important thing on the list for me and is going to melt your face off. My heart and soul literally have been poured into this one.

-A submission of mini paintings that are being submitted to the local Ghost Gallery. They have a special exhibition right now for small works of art, so I’ve been talking to them and am giving it a shot.

-Fucking Etsy. My art will be available in purchase form. Both originals and high quality prints.

It pains me to make posts without pictures here, but I feel like my followers deserve some explanation. Thank you for the continued support.

This is my first attempt to post from my phone. We’ll see how it goes.

I keep toying with the idea of “potted plant ladies”. This is the first scribblies of what that might look like.
